Limo cab's meter rate - should it be remain unchanged?

Since the introduction of Chrysler Limousine taxis in Singapore's roads, their meter is always the talking point as it is at least 50% (including the flag down) higher compared to normal & white limousine cabs. Should the new Mercedes taxis "with higher rental" be following the Chrysler's higher meter jump??

Brothers, please share your views here... (even though, it may not affect the decision made by the taxis companies). Haha.

Yes i think the rates of New Merc should be raised to be closer to that of Chrysler.
The rental rates for new Mercs are higher than the Chryslers yet the fares are still stagnant.
However bringing the fares up to that of Chrysler might put off potential customers. One suggestion would be to adopt an incremental approach to determine the impact on taxi ridership.

Well said. I reckoned that the higher daily rental than most limousine taxis on the road, they should adjust to a reasonably amount and make it easier for those "Commandoes" NEW mercedes limousine drivers to make a living..... But... On the other hand, the New Mercedes Cabs "must be easy to differentiate" from the current white Mercedes cabs on the road...if not, many commuters will avoid Mercedes limousine taxis totally...and costed hardships for the existing fleet of drivers. Hence... Spray it BLACK. Haha.

The "rumoured" New Alphards Limousine-rated taxis will have the Chrysler's meter jump.

Like what NYT said, can increment a bit and see how is the response. If pax are willing to pay, more TD will be converted to Limo Driver.
Anyway if a Merc queue behind a Crown and I am the next pax, I will take the Merc.

There will be changes in meter reading for Mercedes cab when launched. At this moment, better don't say anything yet. Just put our finger cross. Definitely will be a different ball game for us when things started to change. Tomorrow Sin Ming will display the new model in front of office, interested, can go take a look, maybe can test drive also...hahaha

For your information.....Chrysler's MDT very seldom peep....once in 2 blue moons. haha. (not that SMRT mdt is hopeless...they got calls for normal rates) -

You think new merc will follow existing merc flag down fare? i doubt so, it won't be equal to cry-si-lerrrr.... but it won't be same as existing merc...
