Maybe...my own point of view...I am really inexpirenced in all this...just my own viewOriginally posted by Spook:Hi guys,
I open this discussion with no intention of finding specific answers, nor to draw any arguement on style of bowling but to gather opinions especially the spinners.
This may be interesting for those who have be Spinning for awhile and struggled to make progress or stagnant over the years.
There are many ways how to Spin a ball, but why aren't the Spin Bowlers performing at the higher level competition?
The only recent success recorded was Jennifer Tan(Ladies at Thailand leg - ABF )
Well you should look at Manila Open. Spinners dominated the Qualifying Rounds and Masters.Originally posted by Spook:Hi guys,

haha.. Spinners sun setting... hahaha...Originally posted by Spook:Strange indeed at the Phi. could it be that the Spinnes not being able to adapt to oiling changes? Why such dramatic results?
Any spinner here thinks Spinner Style is "Sun Setting"? or there is some hope for revival?
I wonder if any spinner here would be interested to be part of some form of exploration or research team/group to find some answers.
It may be a long process(A year or longer ).....But it can be beneficial for those who still thinks that there is still a chance for Spinners.
Please leave your email if you wished to be part of the research team

Son of Adam Chew. The father represented Singapore using Spinner style in the World Cup before, when the Spinner Style was on vogue.Originally posted by NAMELESS WONDER:whos that?alamak too long no go bowling alley already.
Really I'm not sure.. haven't been following the local scene..Originally posted by Matthew Lim Li Hao:faizal chew
No, the spin is inflicted by a easy flip by the wrist, should not give too much stress to the wrist. Yeah once my hooker friends managed to read the lane properly I will be in trouble.Originally posted by junh:btw, hooker here, spinning bad for wrist?
think its an advantage to spin cuz u need not care bout lane conditions rite?
hooking always depends on the oil on lane..
They gripping the ball too tight.Originally posted by NAMELESS WONDER:just look at the old timer spinner fingers, especially the thumb.so scary, swell until so big.btw ang mo call spinner "helicopter"??
House ball holes are too big or too small for gripping comfort. Get serious, get a custom ball. Just get a 10-11lb ball from cash converter at less than $10 and spend another $30 replug and drill for your fingers.Originally posted by the Bear:i'm still learning the spin..
need to get more RPMs on the ball.. maybe a properly drilled ball will help coz the houseballs are kinda... uhh.. small
i would like to get a very light (9lb or 10lb) ball for myself... since my skill level is low, i would like a skull in a transparent ball
i need practise!
Very true.Originally posted by stellazio:I thought it was a known fact that spinners are more consistent with their scores but hook bowlers or "hookers" as i like to call them can obtain a larger range of score..
