superb dim sum~!~!~ those roadside stalls oso nice...try the infamous smelly-beancurd..heehee~...unless u are unexceptionally hygiene-conscious..then stick to restaurants and food courts..

check out Lan Kwai Fong..lotsa HK celebs owns chains of pubs and discos there..and oso mongkok..where u can see some "gu huo zai" action..

take a trip down to ocean park...got a "wet" theme park..and a "dry" theme park..a day each is good enuff..

any other countries that you been to?? I think Hong Kong is no different from Singapore, pretty much the same urban concrete but Singapore is much cleaner ofcourse.

Bangkok(Thailand):
A nice place to shop. Local goods are cheaper than what we can get in Singapore. Roadside stalls have interesting and exotic local dishes, but ain't for the weak-stomached. Restaurants' food prices are very cheap. The World Trade Centre there is much bigger than what we have in Singapore. The BRS(Bangkok Rail Systems, if I remember correctly) is worth a ride. Quite different from Singapore's own MRT. Leather goods are cheap too and you might wanna check those items with exotic skins out. Night activities are abundant. U can go and watch a Ah Gua Show or Tiger Show if u want and can take it.
Tioman(Malaysia):
Food is similar to Singapore Zhi Char, unless u wanna have some western food, but sure taste better than a lot of places I have tried on local grounds. Snorkelling near the Coral Islands is no longer that interesting as a lot of corals are dying due to pollution. The fishes however, are most interesting when it comes to feeding them.
Not much of night recreation though. -
calcutta -
can go nice expensive chinese restaurant there and eat, cheaper than eat food court here.
Paris -
go eat in their cheapest roadside cafe, as expensive as the post restaurants in singapore. -
anyone been to banyan tree, bintan?? how was it like? heard it's pretty expensive, prices are in US dollar... -
Been to quite a number of countries.
Fave: HongKong, US.
Average: Japan.
Below Average: Bangkok, Malaysia, China.
I think i know why so many people like HongKong. It's really like we are at home, in Singapore. There's the people rushing off to nowhere, the shopping arcades, the MRT, the high-rise flats, etc. Wouldn't mind going there again. Pretty girls all around.
US, well, becoz of the friendliness i have received from the people there. I often thought most of them were racist when i was younger. Well, they were not. Disneyland was an experience i won't forget.
Japan, was too boring for me. Walking around, freezing in the cold. Liked the sceneries and well...the girls too. =)
Bangkok - too hot. too dusty. too many traffic jams. Girls weren't too bad. lol.
Malaysia - well, you know.
China - Hmmm, imagine staying in fujian, in a kampong house, where it's lights-out at 6pm. Yeah haha no amount of pretty girls would overcome the feeling of boredom...and well, there aint any pretty girls there at all.
Best bet for a holiday - HongKong, US.
P.S: Not honeymoon though.

For example going to Surabaya .. will u dare to fly on Bouraq airlines ?? I am sure a lot of you havent heard of this airline . Its a new start-up airline from Indonesia !! It operates 20 years old Boeing 737-200 !!
If i go to Indonesia i probably fly on either SQ , KLM or Swissair (Jakarta)
When i am overseas, i spent hours at the airport taking a lot of pictures of different airlines and aircrafts !!
My best experience was at McCarren international airport (Las Vegas ) , i took a lot of pictures spent 3 hrs admiring them !!( kekeke )

I don't know much about planes, they just look either BiG, bigger or small. The only scary experience I had was on a flight to San Fran, plane hit a turbulance and fell a couple (i don't how many) feet. my stomach was halfway up my neck & when i saw the shock, more like 'panic look' from the flight attendent i knew this is no routine occurence to her. I was only maybe 3 hours into the flight, such a comfort to know
Had 7 or 8 smokes at transit(taipei) skipped the DFS totally

Tioman, ask to be taken away to the neighbouring islands. the water is clearer there. However if your there for just scuba is alright but the rest of the island is pretty boring. that's what i thinkOriginally posted by meowkum:any good place to scuba dive?

i have been to some countries...
but my favorite is taiwan and japan.
japan is not all that expensive as you think.
i stayed in a cheap ryokan, but it is clean
and the service is good. (4000yen per nite)
i travel mostly by train,bus and even a rented bicycle...
i carried lightly, wash my own clothes
and eat simple. sometimes buying offered food. food is sold at a discount when their
shop is closing. (abount 8-9pm)
at time i even stay with my friends...hehe -
Is it really worthwhile to go johor baru to shop??
Everybody knows that the currency difference is great.

<Good> Great scenery and weak currency.
<Bad> Standard of living not very high in smaller towns so gotta bear with the transport/food/toilets
