all depends on which course la.
eg MIT, Caltech etc r all better in Engineering than Havard than in Law
Eg NTU EEE better than NUS. I know NUS grads cannot find job as
easily. but NUS better in Law n Medicine, cos NTU dun hav.

Yesterday's New Paper (Saturday 6 Nov one) there was also an article about NUS vs NTU vs SMU. I find that article very shallow and ridiculous (if anyone has read it and u r from NUS u will know) .

My mistake about harvard engineering but MIT sure does not have law.
Harvard is only known for sciences , arts , law and medicine . Not really for engineering . They pair with MIT on some occasions for engineering which MIT strength is. -

1)eg theres no medicine in NTU. so obviously NUS is 'better' in tat...
=>which means the comparing e diff uni has no meaning...
unless theres a course
2)which also means... shud compare only where there is same
course offered in e diff uni.
n even each uni may be 'better' in one course than in another...
something lik tat la...understooded!??

That's right. NUS's ranking has gone up because it attracts top researchers in biotechnology (Singapore has lax regulations on moral-biotech issues).
It worked because the ranking of the 50 top universities were based upon how well other academics new the universities, and whether the academics published many papers. It did not go by quality of research, quality of staff teaching, quality of student intake, etc.
