Former Grand Hotel, 25 Still Road South

  I remember that Grand Hotel did live up to its name once..... Until one fine day when the authorities decided to build Still Road South, which split the hotel into two separate buildings on either side of the road. That's why you can see a similar-looking building opposite the Grand Hotel.
  
  I don't know when this happened - I've lived in Marine Parade all my life (21 years), and both the separated Grand Hotel and Still Road South have always been there. Perhaps the older generation can enlighten us on this issue a little?

  You mean the two mansions were once a truly grand hotel establishment?
