  i will put it in foregin FD (NZD) and get 6% interest and may get currency apprecaiton considering SGD is kind of crappy currency compared to AuD./ EURO.

  I am doing it now... put saving in NZD and AUD instgad of stupid SGD .
  
  AUD, it was from 0.80 up to 1.29 in SGD-AUD exchange rate. if you would have done it one year ago, you would have been rich liao..
  
  i did a study.
  
  If you put NZD/AUD FD, your return will be better than SGD FD 2800% for half a year. (note: SGD FD is paltry 0.25% to 1% compared to 5% to 6% in NZD/AUD).
  
  but you must put for 3 months to 1 years... so that the interest return can cover your exchange loss by transferring out and in (SGD-> AUD and AUD -> SGD)
