Why So Contradicting?

Why is that Chinese are encouraged to be spoken and do well when it is not considered in almost education level? For Example : O level qualification to poly,Compulsory Subject that students must pass : English,Maths,Science
Now where is chinese language positioned ? -

crap la. when people want to do biz with us, they complain they cannot understand out english or chinese cos the way we speak nt proper. then garment want the people to speak properly. wat is properly?! if these people don understand us, then they should learn our way of speaking then they will know wat we are toking!
Its becos of garment like these that singapore is getting wimpy. -
MOE has been slapping themselves all these yrs with the emphasis and de-emphasis of the chinese language syllabus
expanded the quota for students eligible to take higher chinese
then say chinese is not impt for jc/uni admission
then say wanna groom bilingual "jing ying"
wanna hire more chinese teachers
however and watever, im holding on to my trump card while monitoring my market value..... -

Maybe you are right. Youngster nowadays are so good with their studies i find it difficult to accept they cant do well for chinese too.

I agree what FireIce jie has said,the govt seems like slappin their ownself..For eg, "Speak English Campaign" then there's also the "Speak Chinese,Don't Lose It" sometimes i also donnoe want to use English or Chinese when speaking

Dubbing sucks.
I used to see TVB dramas in their original version; dubbing just kills my interest now. -
