Actually, you wouldn't know when the 'worst' period in your life would be until you are a lau ah pek / lau ah mm, then you can really sit back and think through your whole life and vote the 'worst' period.
That's probably why people get crankier as they age.Originally posted by Tuatau:Maybe the worst period is when we grow old, look back at we lives and realise the numerous opportunities we have wasted, things that we could have done but did not do.
Then again, if we take a positive approach, there is no 'worst' period at all. There are only opportunities for growth and maturity. What does not kill us makes us stronger.
Very touching indeed...Originally posted by Ecxentrique:can think of two periods which i tot was quite bad for me.. though of course acknowledging that its not the worst that one can ever have..
1. Was during JC.. end of 1st year.. results sucks.. failed F maths... cant take failure cos i seldom failed.. then sort of took it very hard studied the entire december holidays.. almost no holidays.. then took the reexam when sch reopned for the second year.. passed.. just scraping thru.. then think for the first time in my life i accept that i m probably not as good.. hence accepting it.. i drop f maths... i think it was a good call cos i went on the survive JC life and really enjoyed most of it.. at the end of it i still do not regret dropping f maths.. i learnt that if its really dat tough after all so much effort that you have tried.. when somethings must be given up.. they have to be sacrificed..
2. Somewhere when i was about to graduate.. took abt a year.. some family problems.. dad drove grandpa away from home.. then there was monye problems.. turns out a year later that the money problems that my dad faced was cos of his extra marital affair.. mom was very very sad when she learnt the fact.. at the same time.. learnt that my grandpa comitted suicide by hanging.. i was really really really sad.. cos i tot he could have at least waited til i graduate and get a job and then took care of him since he was very much my father when i was very young cos my parents left me and my brother in my granparents care... it was really saddening.. the very tot of it is still saddening.. but i guess somethings passes and there is really no looking back.. the immediate problem then was my parents marriage.. i stood by my mom.. luckily i managed to find a job.. i guess its one true test for me for adulthood and recognising wat is right and wrong and who to side with and truly standing up for something and someone you believe in.. i have grown up more after this...
I guess everyone faces some pretty rough times, once twice or maybe even more.. i think its only rigt to give tyourself that test to face up to the lemons thrown at you.. pick youself and the lemons up and make lemonade.. then move on.. become a better person.at the end of it.. smile if you have not given up on yourself for you should be the last person to do so... and if that last person is still there.. well at least its yourself. ha!
well done, dude. this proves that one can survive through any hardship if one's mind is strongh enough..Originally posted by Ecxentrique:can think of two periods which i tot was quite bad for me.. though of course acknowledging that its not the worst that one can ever have..
