I am going to sound really big-headed- but what the hell..I really face this problem.
Why are some guys plain WEIRD??
Something is wrong with the guys I meet- when I smile at them ('coz they are my tutorialmates etc etc) when I see them in sch, they react in two ways :
1. They may suddenly panic and think that I have a huge crush on them or something. They AVOID me like hell when they see me, or:
2. They start getting SUPER friendly with me such that I get uncomfortable.
Seriously, is it a crime to smile at ppl of the opposite sex??????? I'm naturally friendly & I love to acknowledge the ppl I know but guys seem to take it in a WEIRD way.
I'm a Malay gal and most Malay guys, I noticed, react in the first manner when I smile at them. Strange, but true.
Haha...I thought that guys in general welcome female attention?Even if it's platonic??? *winks*
Frankly speaking, now I'm really wary abt acknowledging the guys I know- since a simple SMILE can be misinterpreted.
Sigh..can the red blooded males please clear my confusion which I've been battling with for a LONG time??????????

Hey, when I smile at girls, they scream and run away. Some even run back to their group of friends and whisper amongst themselves, then all look at me. Maybe some panic and go call police also....hahaha.

Lol... Probably cos they seldom have any girls smiling to them... Thats why they feel wierd...
I have lots of female friends who smile and say hi to me whenever we meet... And yea its normal -

i think girls oso react in 2 extreme ways when a guy smile at her......
some ppl are a little defensive
and some are simply too frenly for comfort....
if someone smile at me, i will jus smile back (a fake smile though)
and i will wonder whether tt person is my pri sch mate or wat.....
but usually i relli cannot recall if i know tt person onot.....or is he jus a frenly stranger.... -
Odd, I don't behave like that... I acknowledge the smile and give a slight bow (bending my head slightly while smiling back). And then i just carry on with my business...
To strangers: I just stare at them to see if i know them long ago or whatsoever... -
cos they dunno you mah.. then they thought you might have some devious plans up your sleeves... you sure you checked out your smile in the mirror before?? does it look sinister???
