I have to refrain from commentingOriginally posted by Zorro79:Yo all,
Saw this TV ad from NTUC Income about Ideal Plan that gives away free MP3 player.
Seems rather attractive with this free MP3 player.
What you all think of the plan/offer?
Comments welcome.
My work is related to them so it's not nice to comment on my paymasterOriginally posted by Zorro79:why u have to refrain from commenting?

Advice needed cos I thought it is a good offer with the free MP3 player thrown in.
Got no confidence in there Fund Manager. I invested in the DG Fund. It's a mess. The return is so low, I could have just leave it in the CPF account. My friend bought with another insurer at the about same time, the return was so so much higher...Originally posted by Zorro79:oh i see, ok, never mind, other views are also welcome.
Dynamic Guarantee... Supposed to guarantee profit one. They accumulate returns as when the price go up. So if it comes down, you are not affected because the return is assured already.. something like that... Then if the price go down very low, you still take back capital le.... But other fund is doing so well and DG is not ... cannot one leh.. but it is true.. Oh, they have allow us to switch to other fund without the charges .... I just switch last month.... Don't ask me the result. I can't bother to check now. No matter what the result it, I am sure it is better than the DG Fund. Maybe some Income Adviser here can explain more... me know a little only. What I know more is the frastration... that is all ....Originally posted by Zorro79:what is this DG Fund that you bought?
Can share more?
Thanks.

All investment carry risk... best to do own research. But then if you are never in this before, you are going to have problem ... me good example... SO hope you got lots of friend who can help... Traditional insurance is running out of fashion and investment link is coming in.. Perhaps the best way is to ask these insurance advisor what their good points and bad points. For eg... when with AIA, asked them NTUC ideal plan. With NTUC, ask about AIA. Then make comparision. Anyone here tell you will only say good about their investment... You won't know the pitfall... Good luck to u ..Originally posted by Zorro79:I am new to such investment-linked insurance product.
So how exactly to compare such investment products admist all that are available in the market?
Any good investment-linked insurance product to share?

those financial agents love statements such as these. the best person to ask will be your elders who are more experienced though they may not necessarily be updated. hmm.. personal finance should be taught in school. just a word of caution: don't buy on impulse.Originally posted by Zorro79:I am new to such investment-linked insurance product.

yeap. go ask around. meet representative from all insurance company based in singapore for a start before venturing out to seeing independent financial consultant. anyway, if you are looking forward to growing your retirement nest, then you are looking the wrong way. don't you think a direct involvement with the funds itself would be more cheap having eliminated the "middleman"? there are just so many charges for you to miss.Originally posted by ahshuiger:All investment carry risk... best to do own research.
