its not a fashion accessory dude, its part of the muslim dress that is observed even in the middle easter countries..
in the middle east, at least in some countries, the women are required to wear the tudung, or the burqa as it is rightfully called, together with loose clothing..this would be the case in places like saudi arabia and iran..in turkey, they are a bit more open about such things..
i guess the issue with singapore is that we're a tad more cosmopolitan so there's a tendency to fuse it with some allowance for one to be a bit more liberal..
