Nowadays you can see men on the streets with fanciful and stylish outfit.
Funky and well styled designer done hair that you don't see often in the past. Men looking into fashion magazine... etc. -
Not me lah. my friends , i only use hugo boss perfume and ....

i forgot where i read this... but it went like this:
".. today, men are dressing up, using makeup and all that, they call them metrosexuals.... in the past, we call them Ah Kua..."
but seriously, it's good to present yourself nicely without becoming the (ahem) metrosexual coz the term was coined by a closet case homosexual to describe himself when he was denying his own homosexuality -
It's good because less complains about seeing untidy men on the streets.

Noawadys are ah gua man....Cant u see its those teenage guy who sport that coloured hair look....8- 10 years back...fewer guys had dyed hair and its just simple dyed single colour Golden or brown....most of them emphasised on hair cut and styling using the humble gel...They had long fringes and thick front hairlines which bulge out...there was somehow this Leonardo Dicarprio/Ricky martin hairstyle which used to be common in the early 90s teenage guys which somewhat disappeared when come to the millenium.....thos ehairstyles were actually retro borrowed from the 1950s/60s...it appread again in the 80s and somehow went fashionable in the 90s.....and there was the rocker hairstyle like Kurt Cobain's for those into rock music...which were popular among non chinese guys at the time.....back in sec school days, its always the malay and indian guys who sport this look and get caught by the diciplne master often....
the 3rd type used to be kru-cuts/scrape with some logos "imprinted" at the back of the head like the NIke tick whicxh is ctually a bald spot shaped like the desired logo..
dont know how they manage to do that in the barber shops but a few minority had these wild haircuts.... Definetly those were wild times for hair....and most of the guys always cut at the malay babrbers instead of saloons now...
