Slow web-down loading

I m experiencing very slow web loading to certain sites. Occured occassionally for some sites about 24 hours ago (evening of 6 Apr - Singapore time). e.g. hotmail.com and www.download.com
Any one experience same problem, it is ok already? I am using Singtel broadband. Maybe other service providers' connect'n isn't affected.
Could it be virus that affect just my web-connect'n, my PC seemed fine though.
Appreciate any feedback/reponse. -
i was about the post the same thread. i m using 256k singtel bb... lately they seem to have many hiccups.
especially with log-in pages like ebay and vpost. yahoo.com.sg also suffers from that.
u find it is slow, u try calling their hotline - always cannot get thru one - i guess that tells us that they have problem
u cannot cope... sickening. wasting my money with st...
ur topic should put highlight singtel bb, i am sure many will response...
I am losing faith in singtel already, any service they have is going downhill. bb slow connection and always got problem with other websites
mobile bill so expensive.. dunno the bill real or not...
sick... soon to switch cable liao... arghhh.. damn irritated by singtel...! i hope lee sian yang is reading this! -

Me too... I am singnet broadband user... I can only said singnet sux i pay 70 plus each month for 512 and then so sux... After my singnet plan expire i going 2 change to star hub liao...

i've not experienced any slow-down but connection problems the past few days. called the technical support, they mention about the slow-down and "are fixing it". what pissed me off is that the operators are "engaged" for the past 3 days. can't even complain.

I should add that the prob is worse than slow down - sometimes or mostly cannot even access that site....
- the slow is really worse than 56k dial up.
worse still for me, just converted to B band 512k from 56k dial up only 1 day ago and immediately ka-na this, I thought it is my connection wrong .....or ka-na virus or something until i called up SingTel tech line for BBand, seems dial-up isnt affected cos the dial-up tech line did not say they face any problem ley -
yah.. singnet is having problems now. surfing is slow everywhere.. cant even direct download naruto gotta go by bit torrent.

Dunno whether its an excuse, again some cable problems - not the first, time... read the following quote from Singnet:
Some Internet users in Singapore and other parts of Asia may experience some delay when assessing websites hosted outside of Singapore today. This is due to a cable failure in the Asia Pacific Cable Network-2 (APCN-2) reported this morning.
SingTel is working closely with the cable restoration team led by Reach in Hong Kong as the cable failure occurred in East Asia.
At the same time, SingTel is also working with other members of the APCN2 consortium to restore service by using other cable networks in this region.
We expect the service level of Internet access to be normalised by the next business day.
We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused. -
it's already the next working day.. maybe must wait till the shop opens for business...

my main problem on 7 Apr was that I had great difficulty accessing hotmail site - like it wasn't there at all or there but can't move !
But now at 2am S'pore time seems back to normal for hotmail..... p word, user name page a bit slow but ok after dat. .... or could it be that web user less now and hence only temp....
wait to morning 2 see how lah, any feedback from anyone on 'recovery' by SingTel?
any words from other SE Asia , East Asia and OCEANIA nations/web users, from quote OF Singtel - since it was the Asia-Pac cable and hit at East Asia side, then likely East Asia and parts of OCEANIA may be also affected 2. -

Even without the cable problem, singnet sucks... and they never fail to keep rolling downhill... i mean the quality of the bb
too bad sg too small, not much alternatives for us...

so pls dont sign anything 1st from your current BB. -

indeed quite surprising that time, so fast and back out already , must catch many by surprise, lucky i dont use them the other time.
by the way, the slow web-traffic for SingTel BBand seems recover to much better now, occassionlly hang a bit at Hotmail but still can move if u click refresh buttons again. -

, but if they are gonna lease their cables from singtel, then no point...
that is, unless they lay their own cable to increase the total bandwidth in singapore, otherwise i see not much upgrade in the quality of BB services.
