Ghost in Nightmare last nite..pls help

I had a scary nightmare last night it has since been worrying me.
I dreamt that i was walking near a canal or lonkang when this woman passed by me.As she went a distance her head did a 360 degree turn and her face looked white and pale like a ghost! This dream totally freaked me i woke up and was panting for breath.Could anyone tell me if something's bad going to happen? My mum told me it is a bad omen to dream abt such things.
The look on the woman's face was horryfying. Like the the lady in The Ring show. Pls help me interpret this dream -

Basically the what the dream is telling u is from yr subconscious that u have to move on in life...and not dwell too much in the past...The ghost with the scary face is a repressed memory..A ghost of the past.....Kind of warning or reminder hence its scary face...It could also be associated wit the negativity u may have expereinced during the situation in the past

and also u have to take into consideration the other aspects of the dream like the Canal, surroundings ect in order to give a fully satisfactory explanation
if the surroundings looked familiar or are something which u encounter everyday..it means the dream is signifying your present in conjucntion with the past and that its trying to tell u something..

Right now i do see a lof of chinese homes in my neighbourhood having offerings outside their homes like oranges, candles ect.....What;s the occasaion today, anyone can verify?.....has it got something to do with ghosts?
