Will you pay for the service of Wedding Planner? What service you would expect this planner to do?
for me, if the cost is ok, i dun mind having a planner to settle everything for me, gone through a few weddings in my family, everyone tired like siao for the preparation, though wedding is sweet, but sometimes it is too tiring a process le. -
no doubt engaging professional services will save alotta time and effort but i prefer to source and explore on my own....
it's afterall, MY wedding and I would like to be in charge fully.....kind of make the event more meaningful.... -

My friend married liao but I think she nearly dissolved her wedding cause of the issues/conflicts

u might not like what they provide, but they oso can't accept ur ideas due to costs and other factors.......create delays and frustrations....... -
siao waste money. they just take wat they use on others and give it to u, plan urself better.

I believe wedding planners need to be able to customize everything and coordinate for their clients. There's no assurance of the deal but usually its a mark up of 10-15% of the whole wedding and insurance is paid to secure any issues in the event any of any issues such as the dinner cannot happen cause the hotel screw up ...Originally posted by FireIce:tts the prob with wedding planners

I think for some people, the time saved with all the mundane things is wonderful provided the wedding planner is one who is credible and has planned many successful and happy weddings. The idea the planner need to have is that this is "once in a lifetime event for the couple" and failure is not tolerated. Its usually a trusted party and these people get job offers by word of mouth. All those organized events cannot be trusted. -

i thought couples are suppose to enjoy the preparation process... and feel the satisfaction after then..

i guess wedding planner is not supposed to decide they can give sugguestion but not to plan the whole wedding for you .... because i think they will have leads to the hotels and tour packages for good rates

it's indeed a barrage of stuff to take care of.....fotoshoots, look for restaurant/hotel, food-tasting, pick out ppl to invite, inform frens and relatives, print wedding invitations, arrange who sit with who at the dinner, bridal sedan, day gown, nite gown, make-up, hire photographer, etc.....
i can understand why wedding planners are having good biz these days..... -

getting a wedding planner is something like going for a holiday, either free & easy or guided tour.
With a wedding planner, everything is arranged and suggested for u. w/o a planner, u got to do each and every bit of things. -
