biting one's lip

not the type you do when you are thinking or persisting, but the one that happens for no reason and totally without your control while you are eating! and it always happens on the same spot! it's like your teeth knows that you have already bitten a spot once, and deliberately wants to worsen the condition there (and the pain) by biting on the same spot, again and again!
and that just happened to me - AGAIN! i bit on the same spot 3 times! i got so irritated i gave up finishing my dinner.
anyone knows why this happens?!?!? and how to prevent it???? and more importantly, what to do, now that i have this super big and swollen wound in my lip? -
