best value credit cards - gold / platinum

I'm new in S'pore and am wondering what are the best credit cards (value for money, perks / benefits etc). What are the eligibility criteria for platinum / gold cards etc.

Er, my dad has a maybank platinum..minimum requirement about $80,000(not sure about it) a year..but the bills are also very enormous, but the perks are pretty good, i think got special bonus in meritus mandarin and in singapore/malaysia golf club..
but it's pretty cool, because..waiters will treat you like a king..
Something like the above, but a little modifications -

Thx for the replies. I guess they differ from bank to bank. I'll prob. call the banks to find out. If they are anything like they are in Aust. they wld be pretty hungry for credit card bizness.

my dad, though his income dun relli qualify, he got the invitation bcos he has a good credit history.....spend a lot (haha! my mom shua ka like no tml) and always pay on time..... is tt considered exclusive?Originally posted by Xcert:actually their invitation is not that exclusive anyway... -

my dad also got his platinum invitation this way...and he is like....a super low spender...my mom too...Is ur dad a uob visa gold card holder?
Anyway...I am having a silver card in my wallet and it works for me so I also dun really care...though I do get a little irritated when some cashiers ask me to input my pin number when I use my card for retail purchases. -

most of the rest can apply.
the criteria has also dropped drastically over the last 2 years. last time need at least S$120 -200k pa.
OCBC's Titanium (something like Platinum) card requires min S$50k pa.
Amex Platinum = S$50k pa
ABN Amro Platinum = S$50k pa
UOB Platinum = S$96k pa
UOB Lady's Card Platinum =S$70k pa.
Think of all the above, UOB's seems to be the best. -

so efficient.....tts why my dad jus sign and get the card but i doubt he relli know wat he can use it for......
i think they have to make it hassle-free so ppl will bother to sign-up -

they ask why?
answer....cos no use loh...no point keeping, still mus pay annual fee
they will say "ok sir, keep the card, we waive annual fee"
