I jus realized the 1900 112 6888 i dialled that nite is going to cost me $42!!
I wouldn't have known if i had not read the St forum 2 days ago... the 1900 112 6888 was the main number shown that nite & the only number prompted by the artists. I watched only half the show... but couldnt find the price of the number at all. I jus conveniently assumed it will cost $5 or slightly more. Imagine the consequences if i made a few calls...
I'm only a poor man... but since its for charity, i wun considered it money wasted (jus visit one less time Health spa
) . BUt i'm disgusted at NKF sneaky way. Which normal person would reasonably expect a phone call --- even if its for charity--- to cost $42 ?
I remembered last yr Ren Ci show, the price was dispayed prominently beside each number & the artist prompted the lowest price one. -

hahah... 6868 is the normal one.. follow by 6833 = 3 calls, 6888 = 8 calls... they're just promoting 8 calls to save yr fingers...

Not that I'm not charitable but I'm against using the power of mass media to promote charity. And "tricks" like this.... -
What I really wonder about is why the telcos have to charge callers admin fees for these charity shows. After all, since it's for charity, why can't they absorb the costs? I don't see that doing so would put any significant dent in their profits.

heard that the CEO of NKF flies 1st class when he travels... justifications are CEO of a charity org are the same as those of private org; if they dun get treated well, they may not attract the right talent...
