i m leaving my current company soon... as i m in the service line.. i dealt with numerous clients..
i want to have a testimonial is it ok to request from my client instead of my boss?
my boss is a sucky person... she will not write 1 for me... -
Testimonial? Anyone can bu||sh|t a testimonial. We want to see references, not testimonials.

u know y i wanna get a testimonial... it is to protect my interest.. cos i know my shittttty boss.. i know she sure say bad things behind my back,.. so if i can get a testimonial from her then she cannot say differently as wat she wrote..

i doubt customers will write for you . Last time when i resign i also dont wan my immediate boss to write for me, so my collegue type out the testimonial for me and then ask my sales manager to sign. I think you can ask someone else holding higher post in the company, not necessary your boss

haiz.... my company is a small setup.. headcount only 8.. then gt 3 bosses.. all sisters... all evil.. all will gang up together 1...
and also i m the most senior staff there even though i m only there for abt 3 yrs.... (turn over rate extremely high) so there is no other higher post colleague liao.. i m reporting to boss directly

generally companies dont do reference check unless you are applying for a senior position.

i agree. In most lines, age is a concern but experience is another concern as well. I feel all is not lost when we work on what we have and not on what we can't do about it. what i meant was it is not easy for a worker to look for a job and at the same time reduce the possibility of working under a lousy boss. the job market now is not like it used to be. employees dont get to choose jobs anymore, at least for most of the people.
