Any computer experts who is using ASUS Motherbroad?

  People ,
  
  I need some help from the computer expert. my friend's computer got some problem. it stated insert system file and press enter so I think is probably her XP got corrupted. Now she is using ASUS motherbroad. she can go to Bios. how to set the bios to detect the CD Rom first so that she can reinstall XP? Please help. thanks

  erm, there's the boot sequence in the bios menu.
  
  look for the word BOOT
  
  navigate using arrow keys

  I don't know which one in bios is the setting for boot up... anyone using ASUS motherbroad ? pls help!

  huh? just press F8 or is it F2
  
  or is it the delete button?
  
  they will state the button to press to enter setup during startup.
  
  and you don't need to be an ASUS expert to know that. it is applicable to most if not all mobos.

  I mean i know how to go into bios but i don't know which one is to boot up the harddisk first instead of dos

  at the boot menu (or page), there's a boot sequence, just move your selection up and doen using the pg up or pg down button.... maybe different on your bios, to know what buttons to use for changing the sequence, there's a little box where they will say what to press.
  
  fairly simple english, nothing complicated in the bios setup menus.

  if you want specifics on how i reach my boot sequence page, i get into bios
  
  i press my right arrow button 2 (or 3) times until the word BOOT is highlighted
  
  i press my down arrow button until it highlights my CD-drive
  
  i press page up until my selection goes to the top which states it is the first thing my pc will use to boot.
  
  then I save and exit.
  
  when i see this line,
  
  "Press any key to boot from CD"... i press any key

  if she is doing a PC custom built (i reckon so such u are bringing up the mainboard manufacturer ASUS), better consult the user manual. i am using MSI borad so at start up quickly press 'delete' to stay in the blue screen before the system goes into the OS. look for first boot device, second boot device, 3rd boot device and play around with your setting until u get the cd-rom to be yr first boot device.......should be idiot proof
