JC mother tongue?

  i'm a jc student..hiZ..xp..juz wanna ask u guys..cuz i got D7 for higher mother tongue 'o' level...and now in jc..i am forced by my school to take mother tongue 'ao' level..actually..it wouldn't relli matter if i choose to drop 'ao' mother tongue riteZ?? will it affect my uni entry grades,given that i haf met the minimum requirements by getting a D7 for higher mother tongue 'o' level??

  think you should take.. at least pass that then dun need to take for the next half year.. i dunno... my jc was liddat.. i took for few months, sat for the midterm exam, got B3 then i dropped it le...

  Well, that's certainly not the case especially in the more cheena JCs.

  not all jc is 'cheena'. my sch is a mix of both. half speak eng, half chinese

  aiyah d7 u are forced to take la, only c6 and above (or you shld call it, below. ie, c5, etc..) no need. You cant drop leh.

  i got A1 for chi 'o' level..but D7 for higher mother tongue..tinkin of droppin mother tongue 'ao' cuz tink it's a waste of time..i dun tink dey nd ur chi results so long as u meet the minimum requirements riteX?

  since u got A1 for MT o, ao chinese shld not be a prob wad. if u got A for chinese ao, it's better than D7 in HMT right?

  Never worry...
  many JCs students gets to local university without mother tongue.. mother tongue these days is regarded as taken as a kind gesture.. government and schools see it as useless grade.. i heard university only need 4 grades to go in...?

  Yes.The grades of your 2 best 'A' and 'AO' level subjects.

  what so sad about it? Unless you advocate spending 50% of your study time on chinese and the remainder on the other subjects....I don see anything "sad" about it.

  I tot uni now no need MT also can go in?? Anyway most jc students dunno why very poor in their chinese, but this doesn't happen to the malay n indian jc students

  HAHA i can only say good luck to you.I gave on JC becuz of mother tongue, however much i would love to be bilingual,sadly my results show otherwise. A2 or eng and C6 for mother tongue,now picking up french scarely betta den my mother tongue i will faint man..LOL

  Haiz... why young ppl nowadays dun see the important of learning chinese. Some more we r chinese.

  btw your info is wrong, actually im from the sch which you mentioned "sae can drop" and its really the ultimate truth that you cannot drop AO Chinese.
