Chances of getting hit by a bomb is very slim lah, considering that they are not going after foreigners. You have to be within the blast radius during that few seconds the explosion happens.
But to be safe, just avoid the south and you should be fine. Watch out when crossing the roads and HIV though....more people get killed by HIV and on Thai roads as compared with bomb explosions.... -

The road accidents are really horrible. I have never seen a bus so badly mangled up before the last time I was there
