Too much TV does not cause Myopia???

Hmm.. had a chat with my Eye Specialist Senior Consultant recently... and she confirmed with me that Too much reading, too much TV, too much computer does not cause Myopia or Astigmatism!!! As we all know... Myopia is when the focal point of an object falls in front of our retina and not on it... hmm... so does that mean that all the shit our parents told us when we were young that we should not watch too much TV or read under dim light ar just myths??!!!

erm, darling ah... watching anything too much will cause myopia. see, this is wad happens. when your eye focuses on near objects, you will feel your eye muscles more strained then when looking at far objects. that's cos the cillary muscles have to contract for close focus. if you make your eye close focus for long periods of time, your cillary muscles will have to keep itself contracted for very long. and you can imagine wad will happen to it when you finally relax it... it's never the same again...
now that's wad i call a knowledge a day keeps the eyes ok...

Myopia is due to the eyeball growing too long such that the image is focused at a point in front of the retina, rather than on the retina.. thus u see a blur image. An inherited condition, essentially.
