but that is the story behind the success of singapore and all that you kids have today:
they specifically engineered the growth and dvelopment of singaporeans to excel in areas that bring economic growth and a degree of stability to singapore.
everything else went ou tthe window.
singapore is an example of a state built on meritocracy.
look at how, as a side-effect of this, young people were infamous for racing after the 4 or 5 c's, the kiasu phenonomen; the legitimisation of a system in which social status is actually determined by class, birth, and wealth; one's social place is determined by iq., the social elite rule, and are thought by some to have become arrogant and disconnected from the feelings of the public.
creativity has no part in this.
singapore is treated by as a creative backwater by the west, as well as those in the SEA. singapore is a place to make money. not art.
aside from that, its a nice clean place with a wide variety of food. and is a stop-over place to go to more exciting places. [lol, the last part was taken from numerous people, when asked what they thought of singapore..] -

school systems promotes conformity...
not creativity...
every morning teachers pledge to stamp out creativity in young children...
so you can't really expect much creativity here...
any creative ideas from s'poreans are crushed from lack of funds from banks...
they refuse to lend money due to fear of failure...
so there... why s'pore will NEVER succeed in arts and entrepreneurship...

There are pros n cons...
Without the emphasis on the economic development...we wun be able to build our nation in such fast pace...of coz in the midst of the rat race...we churn out tons of nerds...n we tend to lack in development of other areas such as culture...which the government is trying to improve...
