i got a housemate who installed some unknown software for P2P downloading it caused the visual C++ error. If i'm not mistaken your explorer, IE then any windows program starts to complain of this runtime error due to the buffer overflow right ?
me and my fren were stumped at first, and then decided upon booting up with internet connection in SAFE mode, unistall the software, then do a rollback to 2 days back to stop the run time error.
Then we tried to install the same software in school, and we found out the software was poorly written and some how the programmers didn't not manage dynamic memory pool properly, hence causing the error.
Is your software Avis a reputable software ?
