I got a lappy and a router...now what?

  I got a lappy and router and wanna access the net via my home's starhub cable...how do i do it? they have a step where i need to contact the isp for the specifications. is it nessary?

  connect the router to ur cable modem
  
  config router
  
  on ur laptop and scan for network, connect to ur network

  U can try typing http://192.168.0.1 into ur IE...press enter and see what happens.

  linksys. My router is linskys....when i connect the modem to my router and do a config, they cant find my internet connection....

  are you on wired or wireless connection?
  
  why dont you check the documentation of your router?
  much more straight forward isnt it?

  my lappy has a wireless lan...infact, they detected the linsys router. Problem is the router doesnt detect the internet connection when plug into my modem.
  
  I need to config the router b4 they can detect right? now problem is, how do i do it? where to get the information needed to config it...

  by saving space for forum..my question is ask here.
  
  for wireless lap-top connection. will lap-top lag or often disconnect if i use wireless BB? maybe normal surf no problem but what if playing online game(like MMOPRG) with wireless BB?

  i experience almost no disruptions for 48hrs straight every weekend

  Make sure your router is switched on too...

  bring everything down to starhub to ask them to config for u, or call them to help u lah
