Education in lesser known places

Hi...i know that its been very common for many singaporeans to further their studies in countries such as Aust, US, UK or even Canada...but has anyone ever venture out to lesser known countries like China, Hong Kong, taiwan or even Japan. From what i know, there are some elite universities in these countries that are just as good as the ones mentioned earlier. What do you all think?

Japan not one of the lesser knowns wat.. Very prestigious leh, scholarship for arts course up to $300k

There's a very good university in Iraq, you want to study there?

but i think most of the institutes there conduct their lessons and exams in chinese, thus u have to be very good at it. At least some Universities in Taiwan and Hong Kong conduct lessons in English

so many prefer to go ang mo country...

though is still considered cheaper compared to the angmoh places -
But what will local employers think if they see that ur cert is obtained from China which i pretty rare as compared to the local degrees or degrees from aust, Us or canada. Does it compare up to the standard of these certs.Originally posted by FireIce:i never tot is cheap wat

i stayed there for a while...with my auntie and her husband, who was a prof at dunno wat uni....

lifestyle lah....
quite fast-paced oso....expenses oso quite high one.....
so far i oni know of 1 person who further studied in HK (forgot which uni)
come back and set up own media firm with other frens......so far so good.....
not that shu with her so neber ask further.....
somemore now as SAR of china, im not sure if there will be impact on the education system......seems pretty stable all these yrs.....but who knows....... -
when the next enrolment?
since u have relatives there, u can go for a trial period
stay there for a couple of months and see if u can adapt......
and i think u can contact the school and arrange for visit (they wun be tt unfrenly bah)
i would oso be going to shanghai for real life experience first before i make the decision........tt is, if i have money.........

to be safe, i still prefer China lah.......
surprisingly in terms of exchange programs and accepting overseas student, China actually quite happy to have Singapore students.....(my fren now in Nanjing Uni say one......) -
