personally i would say am overseas education did me tons of good. not just in terms of education, but it has broaden my view of the world. and of cos, the cheap booze and cute guys and gals makes the whole experience even better

I graduated from a SG uni and am now in an overseas uni. Inevitably, I tend to compare overseas education and local education. To be honest, I think local SG univsersity has done a fabulous job in some ways whilst not fairing as well in other ways.
I think the competitive environment in local universities allow one to pursue and strive harder (hence more perserverence) while the more relaxed environment in overseas university tends to allow one to learn at their own pace and more for one's interest. Hence, overseas universities tend to broaden one's learning process and allows one to think creatively.
If you are considering as to whether you want to go overseas or not, why not consider doing undregrad locally and decide later? From what I see, local universities are ranked highly by overseas lecturers.

Lecturers who fail sloppy students dont ask the students how much the student is paying for their fees right?
Anyway, a good university will try and ensure that all students get their required help the students need. -
