earn how much to be considered "high income group"?

if u work in a bank, and are targeting this particular group, how much salary/income to qualify?
In Sunday Times, this Fuji-xerox vice president is earning $200k pa, but is still living in a HDB flat with family and not thinking of private property yet. so is he considered high-income? -

We're talking about two different things here.
(1) High income.
(2) Lifestyle, including place of residence, etc.
They are not related to each other. A high income person can choose to live in a cheap flat. -
there are people who in HDB flat but drives a mercedes.

Are there a lot of pple earning >$100k pa? My impression is "yes". the uncle living next door to u in a HDB flat could well be earning $100k pa.
so if there are so many of them, are they considered "high income" by definition by the banks (private wealth/ private banking/ priority banking division)? shouldn't they just be classified as "mid-high income"? -
U should also look into the assets eg bank deposits, properties, shares etc which these pple owned.
High salary doesn't mean a thing nowadays cos can be retrenched! -

By numbers, there are a lot of people earning more than S$100K per year. However, by percentage of population, this is just a small number.
I'm not sure if there is a specific line which defines middle-income, high-income, etc. I guess this is very subjective, depending on a lot of things.
I mean if you're taking up a mortgage from the bank to buy a S$300K apartment, the bank will consider S$100K per annum as high income.
But if you're taking up a mortgage from the bank to buy a S$5 million mansion, the bank will consider S$100K as peanuts and will disqualify you immediately.
Forgive me for not answering your questions directly, but I'm unable to pinpoint the objective of your question (to fine-tune my answers accurately for you). -
simple wad, this question... you asking about high income. then just look at income can le lah.. compare with the average people lah.... why talk about assets???

At least that's what I always heard during army time that this is the amount you shall earn monthly if you don't want to be called back for unneccessary ICTs..... -
we are paying a lot of indirect tax. even tax on petrol and vehicle are recovered from ppl by ppl who keep increasing the fare prices.

wage-wise, priority bankers would normally only classify $200k pa and above as high-income.
my view: $100-199k pa only mid-high income. -
