anyone knows whether bintan accepts spore currency? or use ruepee?

It is the law in Indonesia to transact domestically only in Indonesian Rupiah.
However, most hotels in Bintan have their prices in Singapore Dollars. When you pay up, they will convert to Rupiah, using that day's exchange rate.
At other resorts in Indonesia (eg. Bali Hilton hotel), their menu are all in US$....and similarly, they convert to Rupiah using that day's exchange rate when payment is to be made.
I guess its because the Rupiah has a history of being an unstable, fluctuating currency (usually going downwards)....so establishments want to 'hedge' on their currencies to secure their profitability.
