Can you justify a legally wrong action?

Do you think it is right to justify a legally wrong action? For instance someone is involved in a robbery and he said he did it because he wanted to feed his family and the economy was bad so he couldn't get a decent job. And what about someone who is involved in raping someone? Some people said it is the victim's fault for dressing scantily and arousing the rapist's desire to rape her...do you think this is a legitimate argument?

it is just a futile attempt by mediocre lawyers to gain sympathy. -
guilty people always come up with lame arguments.

lame reason to cover up for his action, and because he is trying to protect his "face" and reputation as well, so that he will not seem as in he is in wrong. innocence until proven guilty.
it is the duty of the judge to determine guilt or otherwise.
