My computer is Pentium 4 running on Windows Millenium. Recently bought Rome: Total War and Winning Eleven and when I play the game, the characters and movements were like..........DARN LAGGY AND SLOW.
In the end, I found that my GEFORCE graphics 64mb sucks and upgraded to GEFORCE 128MB FX series which improves the gameplay.
However, my gameplay still slightly laggy. Is it possible that it may be due to my memory ram? Cos my memory only 256mb.
For Intel Pentium 4, which brand of memory chip to upgrade..? Intend to add another 256mb?

Change OS? Is that the only reason why? Not bcos of my memory ram of 256mb? Can don't change OS? Cos gotta go and buy the Windows XP Pro and then install. I'm nuts about computer and fear that by upgrading my OS, it will result in me losing some prorams etc.Originally posted by ditzy:Your OS does not allocate sufficient virtual memory to commiting to such high resource crunching games, regardless of your processing power.

u can get an upgrade windows XP home (affordable) and upgrade over your ME and cheaper than the original installation disc package. if u do so, better get at least 512MB of ram. for me i am using window XP home (not upgrade package) and after changing to 1Gig ram, i can feel and see the difference when i control+alt+del and check my task manage for the system processes usage...on CPU physical memory and process status (not choppy now!). quality of graphics can also be improved with a better or neweer graphics card. i am not sure about win ME but XP requires at least 512 MB ram to work properly when u run your programs.Originally posted by Guru78:Okie,
