Speed Dating - any thoughts

  Not sure whether this is a old topic or not..but thinkin of joining one..just for fun..n widen my social circle.
  
  Any thought about it? - fun?
  
  Other than the HOT-SPOTS , SDU, any other "SPEED DATING" services?

  These are all commercial establishments (matchmaking agencies). Age doesn't matter....only $$$ does!

  Oh I see. So, where is the lead? Have you been to one? After my cousin kena laugh at one or not? Don't know to say naive or cruel but then people can say "aiyoh, where this aunty come from" like that? I mean if someone has self confidence, they don't bother what others say. But my cousin a bit fragile now ley.

  Yah, some people can be absolute insensitive *censored*.
  
  I have a single female friend in her 40's (she's Malaysian and lives in the KL area). She tried attending tea parties, etc, organised by matchmaking agencies, or just private get-togethers. She's also had some rude remarks thrown at her.....or has just been ignored while the younger ladies get all the attention.
  
  I don't know of any cases here, but I'd bet my bottom dollar that such situations occur in Singapore too.
  
  Personally, I don't see whats wrong with people looking for partners, be it through an agency or by any other means.

  Chia lat lah, like that. Although she is not the ah-soh type but still, 40s is 40s right? Cannot run away from the wrinkles, "au-pan" or is it "pek-pan", you know, those blemishes...what do we call them? Not "lau lang pan" is it?
  
  I share your sentiments. I mean seriously, just make friends only mah. But you are right about the younger ones getting the attention first. * sigh *

  Er....sadly, she does look like an ah-soh. She's a nice person and her behaviour, thinking, etc are all very modern, but her looks and fashion sense.....
  
  One thing about her which scares some men off.....she's quite attentive. After meeting the guy for the first time, she would keep calling him, send him on-line greeting cards, send him gifts, even offer to go over and do housekeeping for him. We told her about this, but she insists that what she's doing is right. So OK lor......don't wanna change people's lives.

  Wah...........that's a bit too aggressive already lah huh? May frightened off some men who are not ready for anything but friendship.
  
  But my cousin is not like the ah soh type. She looks cool. Up to now, her wounds hasn't heal so she is definitely not ready for a relationship. But I thought a new/wide circle of friends can help her get back on her feet.
