Usually it will fade away after a long time but you will still see the scar.

Physical ones... heal very fast but will leave a mark that can be seen
Emotional ones... heal very slow, won't leave a mark but it keeps hurting you

There's a product by Activa..saw on tv before..says to be v effective for scars..duno how true is it..but u might like to try..

emotional scars can be healed easily too.. its whether u want it to heal quickly or not.. you can choose to get over it and move on.. it sounds easy to say and hard to do but thats the only way.. to just move on.. thats what you have to do in the end.. so might as well do it earlier.. and just move on for your own sake.. people always say emotional scars are hard to heal etc.. but i beg to differ.. its all in the mind.. and thats sad.. because some times u dont want to forget the scars.. its not that u cant.. its just that you dont want to.

However, I think like someone else mention here, there are some places where you can sorta lasik off the scar. Though I don't recommend it. -
depends on how deep, which area, exposed to the sun or other environmental agents etc.... and especially how u handled the recovery when it was a fresh wound.....
try LHE, i suppose it's cheaper than diamond microdermabrasion ... go to the salons and try all the trial offers!!! It would be cheaper!!
