CFA madness

Does anyone know why is the CFA so tough?
I'm doing level 1 and formulaes are already coming out of my ears and nose.
Lets suffer together. Less than 10 days of mugging to go before freedom for a while, before level 2 beckons hehe -
I've been told level 1 is ok.
I'm planning to take it next yr as i've still to complete my final yr in uni.
Do you have any prior knowledge in finance at undergrad level or thru working experience? -
CFA is not really very tough. Actually Level 1 is chicken compared with Level 2 and 3.
If u find Level 1 tough, wait till you come to Level 2. -
taking it after my degree man....

Is it possible to study for level 1 within a 2 month period assuming I have fundamental accounting and finance knowledge?
Secondly,is more more useful compared to say FRM? -
Laurence-are u into trading stocks?
Familiar with technical analysis?
Any good books are recommend to beef up my knwoledge on that subject.All this while,I've really been a fundamental person myself but beginning to appreciate the beauty of tachnical analysis as well. -

Well you still should know more than me,I'm studying accountancy.
No interest whasoever in going into auditing etc.
What are your plans after graduating? -
actually i am not sure whether i shld go for accounting or finance
there are prospects for these two professions
well, i just started off my major, just finished a course on valuation and all that
next sem will be on investments... -
Did a bit of Fin in school. I am a Commerce (Marketing) grad though.
Tough to balance work and studies. But still do-able.
Pple of acc background will have some advantage...lots of weight on Fin Statement Analysis in Level 1 and 2 mi think.
If a lot of pple say it is easy...starnge look at the stats...less than 40% (think 34%?) passed.
Think only pple who passed will dare to say it is easy -
yah, those with acct background also find it easier to do FSA

Actually Level 1 is quite fundamental. to build up core understainding in stats, accouting, FM... so i guess for most finance grads or undergrad should be ok.
The only "new" thing is ethics. but that is only 10% and should be ok if u spend time reading.
