Beijing + Tianjin + Chengdu

nothing really interesting there

Never been to Chengdu.....but been to Beijing (business and leisure) and to Tianjin (business only).
I like Beijing for its historical value. In fact, I saw it from the time when there were more bicycles than cars....from the time when there are more cars than bicycles. As with any city, people are not that friendly and things are more expensive. It was really refreshing to see the real thing....instead of the actors in movies who only wore green caps and carried little red books.
As for Tianjin, I only saw the industrial part. I even stayed at a hotel in the industrial estate itself. I found Tianjin people friendlier than those from Beijing.....and things in Tianjin cheaper too (buffet breakfast for $3). But remember, my experiences were in the industrial part of Tianjin only.....
