i cant help but to start this thingey again... parents vs teachers vs moe... wonder if any one read the abv article written by a parent...
for those who didnt, the gist was that teachers are now being questioned as to whether they are able to control the class after the violent incident abt 1 school kid bashing another boy up after he was teased...
here's my 2 cents worth... for one, parents are the ones who complain and question when their children are not in what-they-deem "condusive" env to study... they are the same bunch of whiners to complain when teachers give frank assessment of their children (be it bad or gd) in their report cards or during PTM...
i only have 1 thot: shielding, shielding and more shielding... if parents cont to shield, then their children will always have the impression that "...if i dun like it in school i can always turn to my parents..."...
i agree parents must intervene if they sense something is amissed, but pls be reasonable... did they discipline their children when the need arises?? or did they juz let them be and let them hv their way???
i hope parents will exercise their common sense and discretion b4 they start pointing fingers... they need to remember that their children spend more time at home than in school... the school and their teachers have the duty to incalcute good values, but parents must all the more co-operate by being harsher (and i dun mean juz scold scold when the child commits a mistake) in their punishments...
in short: stop putting all the blame on teachers... parents pls reflect on your own disciplining methods b4 pointing your fingers... the world would have less prob...
