part 3 is a bit confusing because the characters are frequently imagining and also there are parts where they are actually showing the things tt happened before and during part 1 and these scenes are not shown to the viewers before...

there's this DVD trilogy box set that comes with a special edition of the 3 films re-edited into a full length 5hr+ version in chronological order. meaning the film starts with Infernal affairs II, followed by a little bit of I & III here and there, and finally ends with III.
