In US their women are very receptive of returning US soldiers from Iraq or war organising warm welcomes and party nights....THESE WOMEN OFFER DATES AS WELL for their countrymen soldiers who risked their life in war..They appreciate what their brave men had contributed and feel proud and patriotic about them..Why cant we see such things here in Singapore?
All that we see are some arrogant, eccentric women leading easy lives covering their noses when a NSF boards the bus....our women are not patriotic about their guy soldiers at all.....Look at what our society is.....this is the real truth about our society...just sucks!

our NSmen haven't really participated in a war mah... that's why we don't see such large-scale welcome parties etc...
if our husbands, bfs, and sons go off to war and have returned... u think we won't welcome them meh? even when our soldiers went off to East Timor to help casualties etc, u think their mothers and gfs didn't give them warm welcomes when they returned? it's just that we are more private about our celebrations!
hey, we even praised and thanked nurses and doctors for their contribution during SARS man... what makes u think we won't appreciate our soldiers when they return home from war? -

If they are not soldiers, why the hell should to go to war? Human shield?
What kind of patrotic welcome are you looking for when Singapore does not even need to go to war? Start complaining when there is war and when peace prevails and no one gives a welcome then you have a right to complain.
As for some girls who hold their noses if the NS guy stinks (ok that looks rude), I can tell you, they will hold their noses to whoever has BO and sits beside them even if it is your mum. -

US soldiers (beginning with private rank) are paid very well. That's why their women look up to them.
But unlike here, how much are our NS men really paid? Kacang puteh!
Of course our women look down on the men.
If ministers pay can be benchmarked and paid private-sector salaries (which are way above their US peers), shouldn't our soldiers be paid way above the
American soldiers?
