Is time travel possible?
In what sense is time travel possible / impossible? Is it logically possible, physically possible or technically possible?

Can we have some more logical stuffs please? Read this from somewhere... Rather interesting
It is commonly regarded that time is the 4th dimension.
We are 3-dimensional beings, hence we are more familiar with how 1,2 and 3 dimensional objects interact.
For example, we know that our 3-dimensional space can contain an infinite number of 2-dimensional objects. ie. Lots of 2-D shadows can be cast in our world. Similarly, an infinite number of lines can be drawn on a 2-D piece of paper. However, the line on that piece of paper is unable, on its own, to move to another position on the paper. Same for the shadow. It does not change, unless something changes in the 3D world, like when the object casting the shadow moves or the light source moves.
If we extra-polate what we know from the above, it suggests that if there exists a 4th dimensional creature, living in his 4D world, he can easily observe our entire 3D world, and cause a direct consequence in our world. ie. If he shines his 4-dimensional torch, he can cast a 3Dimensional shadow in our world.
Going a bit further, note how a 3D creature moves around in a 3D world. When we walk around, we know that we our physical location has changed. However, when we moving a a piece of paper with a drawing on it around, would the drawing know that something has changed? Unlikely. This is because the drawing still confined in the same piece of paper.
All these lead to my following beliefs:
1. A higher dimensional being can manipulate our 3D world. Perhaps God is such an entity.
2. If time is the 4th dimension, the higher being can just shift or change our position in time as simply as us moving a table from a location to another.
3. We are 3D creatures.. we can only observe the consequences of a change in time (like us getting older) but we cannot force a change in time, since it is outside of our dimension.
Answering the original posters question, I can suppose if our whole time-space could be on a 4D truck that's driving around in the 4D world. In that case, our position in time is constantly changing. When the truck moves forward, our perception of time moves forward. When the truck stops, all time freezes, but we wouldnt even have a clue. So if the truck reverses in time, then we will move backwards in time.. like a rewinding video. Again, we will not be able to observe a move back in time, and it will feel perfectly normal to us even if everything is going backwards.
So in that sense, time travel is definitely possible, in all directions, but too bad we, as 3D creatures, cannot control or initiate a change in direction of time. A higher dimensional being could, if such a being exists and wants to. -

There's this theory that time travel is impossible. Theory is that if there is time travel or that it is made possible in the future, it would have been apparent by now from appearances made from future travellers. The fact that there is none made it clear. Could they have been held back by some unknown forces as not to make an appearance ? Consider this. If they have the tecnology that makes it possible to time travel, they would have not been held back.
Again, consider this, that if time travel is not possible by physical means, say your body would be disintergrate the moment time...reverses backward or moves forward, then all that's possible is to view it through special apparatus...then is there any point to time travel ?
Also, people travel back through time by recalling their memories. Is there much of a differences here? And by viewing the future...isnt that same as making it through each and everyone individual actions ? To believe in a stable future means believing in a stagnant world where things would be unchanged planned by so called fate and destiny. I refused to believe in that.
I personally believe that in life, not only do you serve as a witness to events but as a person, you exist by stating your presence by participating in the events around you. Being a mere observer would reduce you to no more than an immobile stone. -

The temporal science involved in the hypothesis of time travel is simply not within our current scope to comprehend.
While shows like 'time machine' and 'star trek' feature prominent theories about how to 'slingshot' your way back into time, they lack the scientific proof to substantiate what can only be described as 'brillant ideas'. -
I'm reading the "Timeline" by michael crichton now.. something to do with travelling to the past. I dun think it's possible to travel back to past thou...and even if one day, the technology is so advance that we could, might not be good thing..cos we're meddling with nature and it will have its effects.
Like in the story, they came up wif a technology to transmit ppl like sending data via a fax machine from one universe to the other... but it had its flaw... those return to find some of their "data" not fully transcripted back or some alteration wif their original self. Tanscription error.... -
