how to get my laptop to internet?

  Win XP home edition SP1
  
  I got 2 other pc and a router and a modem..
  
  I dunno how to configure my old laptop to connect to the router.. anyone can help me??
  
  I click on My network places and then right click the mouse and click on properties.. I see only 1394 Connection and Local Area Connection.
  
  When i right click on My Computer and click on properties, then click on the Computer Name tab, there's no place for me to type my SSID.
  
  How?? ANyone good in networking ???

  And if your old laptop doesn't come with a wireless recieving device, then also no point what right?

  Its easier to google it. Google>Help>Connectivity>Wireless for dummies.
