I used the same ball mouse over a span of 3 years, a pal of mine switched his optical ones no less than 5 times over the same period.

I'm also using ball, but ball mouse you must ocasionally dig out the 'sai' from the roller, and this microsoft mouse seems to be making me to it quite quite often
