  i believe u can choose not to display it by going to the phone setup, and setting the "display cell info".

  u didn't mention what model your phone is? how to help?
  
  anyway if u are using a MMS norkia phone like me, go to dream3r website using GPRS and download the blank operator logo. it's free. u only need to pay for your GPRS charges, which is very cheap, rest assured.

  i went to thenokiazone recommended by kaobeikaobu and downloaded as advised.
  
  hopefully there are no extra charges besides GPRS.
