My computer is shutting down by itself...

My computer just shuts down by itself not long after I started it. I tried going through a virus scan, but the scan did not even get to complete itself, and the computer shuts down, yet again. Anyone out there knows how to solve this problem? Any help will be appreciated. By the way, I'm using my brother's computer to post this, so I'm not joking or anything. Please, anyone, help.

did yr comp count down before it shutdown itself ??
if yes i think is the blaster worm ..... u can dl a patch from Microsoft -

there once my CPU fan spoil .. and the computer was overheated it keep restarting itself -

if virus, there will be a countdown and according to my friends, it will only initiate after a network connection has been detected.
msblaster and several others take these features..
if not, it might be another new virus..
or yr hardware might be faulty, cpu fan, motherboard, harddrive.. virus easier to deal with imo. -

i thot its the sasser worm.erm when u type cmd under run they will bring u to the control screen.i forgot wad to type liao to make sure ur com wun auto restart. need to ask my fren..haha..but it can be configured to not restart by itself.
