tissue to chop seats .. when i was working at delifranc .. i was cleaning tables .. i saw 1 packet of tissues .. like those half used .. then i tot wat so wanted to throw away .. some woman stopped me .. so lame .. put something so insignifcant to show tat u occupying that seat ? u shld at least put something big at least ..

I NEVER feel safe leaving things anywhere in public in Singapore. Even at hawker centre, no matter how many bags or things I carry and my hands are full, I would still order my food and then carry my food together with everything else and then search for a table.
This is the kind of society Singapore is -> take all that benefits you and disregard everyone else. Summarized in one phrase -- 'Shallow, opportunistic and materialistic'.
I was living overseas and I feel more at ease and at home with the gracious society there. There's no need to always watch your things in public closely, fearing that others would steal/take. However in Singapore, I have to keep an extreme close watch on my stuff or tire myself out with all my things hanging on my hands and body to do something.
Regardless of having a good police force to ensure low crime in Singapore, these kind of petty thefts by anyone here create an ambience of insecurity of one's things and lack of trust in anyone in Singapore. -
my colleague lost her whole handbag when she was clubbing at balaclava.
and that handbag was just next to her.. she didnt even notice when it got stolen.
so be extra careful with your belongings. -

yeah man.. i agree with you too.. thats the bad side of singapore society.. and since its the society we are talking about.. we cant really change it.. its the people who can change that fact and prevent that from happening.. we ourselves as individuals cant do much to help the society.. unless the people themselves make a change.. im living overseas now in usa.. and i can tell you that in my estate, 4 out of 5 houses leave their cars, houses door unlocked all the time, even at night. some of them even feel safe to leave car keys in their car. this shows the attitude of the people here and how different it is from singapore.Originally posted by Homebody:What you say is true but this goes to show the bad side of Singapore society.
