anyone got busted by police when they conduct a raid on pirated shop while you are in them?

there once in hdb town i was abt to buy the mp3 music ...theres guys sitting outside of the pirated shops when i was abt to open the door they stop me they re the CID i think and there are pp and shop asst inside

around 1997, i was walking in Holiday Plaza in JB when everything just shut
it was hilarious.. the cops came into the mall and half the shops were closed
i just continued choosing the tao-sa piah i was buying at that time
after a while, the cops went away and the shops started to open again...
i found out from the food court fella that the shops were tipped off that there was going to be a raid.. and something about the shops paying off someone

last time when SLS still got those shops...
was browsing half-way when the "shop-keeper" pull down the shutters and ask everybody to go out...

once at toa payoh ... think they got tip off ..... they juz chase everyone out .... and pull down the shutters veri fast ....
but about 5 min later ... when everything clear. .. they juz reopen the shop .. and fill with customer again -
yday at amk central...i think one shop got raided. i saw a guy with a tag taking photos of the shop, probably the police.

Last time when Seragoon Shopping centre got the shop, almost kena. Already bought my stuff and came out of the shop and went to one of the shop selling food. Moment I sat down saw people running about and realised shop kena raided.
Wah lao, after makan, din even bother to pick up my cds and left. Scared kena spot check boy.
So by the way where are the latest updates on these shops location? Any updates in the East side? -

Hahaha... I have same experience too. Mine was I was browsing thru the vcd when the owner suddenly chase us away asking us to come back later. Then I see the whole plaza all selling pirated packing up. It was a magnificient sight.
Then I decide to stay ard to witness all events after that. True enuff, later got ppl police? coming in and raid. Then they raid and go out and then a while later viola all the stalls open and do business again.
It is a very efficient management of business. It is like a day after day routine they practised and they are so used to such disturbances. I really admire the entrepruener and co-operation spirit among the stall sellers

while my story might be a bit off tangent... i was in a LAN shop (about 7 years ago when lan shops started getting hot) when police came in and shut the place down. Apparently the dude had no licence and didn't put up appropriate notices. Out of ALLLLLL my friends.. i was chosen to give statement. I remember them asking me "do you know its illegal for you to play games in this shop wearing your school uniform?" (haha we were all in sch uniform that time) and "how much are you paying to play here?" and "do you know that this shop has no licence"
wah i felt damn bad for the shop owner.. young ah beng... damn poor thing. And after that when the police let me go (not at station.. still at the shop) the owner tell all of us no need pay and that he very sorry.
The funny thing is.. there was a shop blatantly selling pirated games just 5 shops away around the corner... and although the mata was inside.. they were browsing and buying games leh... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm -

I think they not browsing and buy game lah... most likely they doing stock take of the number of pirated vcds to evaluate the street cost worth of this set of discs?
Most of these shops are manned by small fry so got raid they own up. The big boss behind will look after their families while they eat black bean rice. A typical scenario we see in HK movies -

i heard from my mata friend last time.when they raided those pirated vcd roadside stalls.sometimes they kapo a few as well..

Yup. One of my friend's father who is a corporate lawyer witness that also. even today still like that in city square. doors close but open for customer to go and in and out. until someone pay the cats. -
