How many of you know that Clementi actually has a cinema?
The cinema is Empress, under the group of Eng Wah. I used to see it advertises with other Eng Wah cinemas.
It is really old and seems like the last renovation was long long ago.
Anyone knows about it and did watch a movie there? Raise your hand! -

I always tease to my wife that it is the best cinema to watch ghost movie. The surrounding atmosphere is already frightening...

Compared to Princess in Bedok, Empress is older (no pun intended). Oh, and the ticketing system is still manual, not computerised.

the older cinemas were more spacious. seats are much further from the screen. and can hold big crowds.

In the past, there was also another cinema beside the fountain called Clementi cinema, then in its heydays, it was split into 2 cinemas, the other was called Commonwealth cinema. Now both cinemas has been converted into a KTV. -

When we got there (SMRT184) whole cinema only 24 people, we moved 3 rows back from our original seats and nobody seemed to mind
When we got back home from there (SMRT184) i messed up something with the service, thats another story.

the cinema is favourite among couples.
