how to improve pool??

i know its practice but any1 knows the techniques to improve faster???
my friend say start playing alone on a 9 feet table and try to pocket in all the balls, so you will find it easier to play on a 8 feet table...true?? -

i think best play betting...i didnt realise that but my skills imporve 700% when betting. Its because of the pressure of winning that force u to concentrate hard. If not..i just play play nia~

read,study the techniques,watch then go play.u muz learn all the spins,etc and of course practice makes u more zhun.yea number way is a good way to learn and remember..damn pain sia...pay so much..

i think play w/o betting better. cos too much pressure cant concentrate. under pressure, u will try to aim very hard and aim here and there in order to pocket the ball, in the end the ball wun go in. heard fm ppl that cannot aim too long, or else u will lose aiming and concentration.

Play snooker.
Bigger table means u need to b more accurate. n pool the pocket so big. so easy to go in.
Most important learn ur facing or placing of ur cue ball.
get ur cueing all right. learn how to do hit the cue ball at al positions i.e drawback, topspin, sliding.
N most important, get some1 better than u to place the game wif, then only u can improve. -
bring measuring tape, paper, physics text and calculator when you play since theres no time limit on makign the shot

placing is most important i guess.. thats something my dad taught me whenever i play with him.. hes a pool shark. trust me, i have a pool table at home and i play until sian, dont get me wrong either.. im not top notch at pool but im sure i'll put up a challenge.
IMO.. i would seperate pool into 4 components, mainly,
1.stroke
2.placing
3.accuracy
4.sequence
1. stroke is very important, it helps make your shots accurate, so that you wont miscue etc.
2. placing is mainly where your white ball will go after making a shot, therefore, to have good placing, you will be able to run the game in your favour even though you have more balls to clear on the table.
3. accuracy as it speaks for itself is whether you can get the balls into the pocket. as for me, i use feeling and a technique called "ghost ball". Ghost ball is a technique where it will be 100% correct as long as you hit the exact spot, it will help people in making shots i guess.. and etc.. i find that a problem that stops me from getting balls in all the time is not hitting the right spot althought i know where the right spot is, i know it is not the stroke and i guess you need to have very good judgement.
4. sequence IMO is which ball to hit first, how you should try to clear the game and win.

i think is 30secs time limit....den u r given additional 5 chances to ask for extension for each game not frame....den if u still need additional extension i think is USD$100 per extension. If i rem correctly

Watch World pool championship on TV and learn from the players. Most of the shots of the same kind are repeated time and again, see which part of the cue ball they contact and the nature of the stroke, that gives them where they want the cue ball to move to for the next ball.
Most important point of the game, imo, is cue ball control.
If you can control the cue ball, u can control the game. -
