  How could the future not be dark and gloomy when the present world is already so polluted and people are still killing one another after centuries of warfare?
  
  Anyway, dark and gloomy is most directors' visions of the future world. Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, James Cameron, the Wachowski brothers, Stanley Kubrick, Terry Gilliam, etc.
  
  If you want to see something bright and cheery for the future, try Robert Zemeckis' "Back to the Future II". Skip the part in which villain Biff used the Sports Almanac and became a powerful man -- that's dark and gloomy, too.

  There are quite a few films attempting to depict the future of our Mankind. Personally I feel that maybe a film that try to show that we are all our own God and we ourselves held the key to our future. What we do in our present lives will determine what we are in our next live? A reincarnation storyline deja vu?

  har? why is future so scary de?? But i'm sure future will be controlled by robots and those computer thingy lo.... anyone see the news 2 days ago? The japanese already create some kinda gadget to attach the human body, and it helps the ppl to enhance their strength by the help of the attached gadget!!! Isn't it scary??????
