What do YOU see in branded goods?

  Pricing of Quiksilver shirts go as high as $120++ per shirt.. Just wondering why would anyone buy it.. Does wearing the shirt make you smarter?

  Branded goods are for making a statement about one's wealth.I admit that designers brands(Hugo Boss,Zegna,Ferragamo) are beyond my reach at this point but would definitely contemplete buying them at some point when I can.
  
  When buying clothing,I go for mid-range brands that provide value(not all do mind you,some really are pathetic in terms of quality).I like Ralph Lauren,Raoul,Levis a lot.They cost more than your average Giordano but i feel that they last much longer,hence the value in them.

  I see your(or your parent's) hard earned money goes to:
  the sales staff/management team/cleaner/cashieer 's salary of the shop
  the rental fee of the shop
  the cost of advertisments of that brand(quicksilver or watever)
  the salary of designers
  the garment factory workers/management team/cleaner/gurads/accounts team 's salary
  the profit of the company of that brand.
  
  u are the customer, and if u(i mean everybody) dun buy, many ppl gonna lose thier job.

  erm you do realise that the money unspent on the clothes will go somewhere else and provide jobs for other pple?

  a commodities broker once told me that the branded stuff comes from the same sweatshops that give you the generic branded stuff

  i see wasting more money on things that are not a necessity. when i choose clothes.. i look for the design.. and whether it matches with me.. or what i wear.

  Problem is I wear T-shirt and jeans all the time. My T-shirt not those happening ones with tears, holes, one sided, frilly or sexy type. MY T-shirts are bought years ago or people handed down one ...
  
  But anyways, its better this way. I don't like to visit boutiques and let those people who look down their noses earn my money. I strongly dislike paying for bad service and in sg has no such thing as service for singaporeans. Sometimes I buy things because the sales person is realy nice, not cause I needed that item.

  obviously i see the brand in the branded goods..duh...makes me feels good wearing it.maybe its just me,but what is the tendency of catching someone who sports the same t shirt which is by the way branded as compared to a giordano t shirt?

  The bigger the brand name, the cheaper it is.. It's those when you can't tell whether it's a gucci or just another brand that are ex..

  people who know a bit about marketing and branding know what a brand is.
  
  a brand is a name or sign that is connected with an image or vision whatever u prefer.
  brands sell better because people want to get their piece of this image.
  gfx, shapes, unique details and looks on branded products are used to make the brand product different from others.
  
  well thats what i see in branded goods and because i have my own vision and image i do not look for branded products just products that fit to my taste.
